A motion-sensing stair light kit that lights your staircase one step at a time. Two PIR sensors, placed at the entrance and exit of the stairs, pick you up as you approach, and an adjustable day/night sensor (5 to 150 Lux) decides when the lights are allowed to come on.

The COB strip is 8mm wide with 480 LEDs per meter, delivering 1000–1100 lumens per meter at 10W/m, and it cuts every 50mm to fit each tread. Adhesive backing fixes it under the step. One main line cable connects every strip, so there is no separate wiring run for each step: press the two clamps onto the cable and you're connected.

Everything is set from the controller's digital display: brightness in 99 levels, delay time in 99 levels from 4 to 200 seconds, sweep speed in 99 levels from 150 to 2600 ms, and 12 lighting modes. A remote with wall mount is included (battery not included), and the controller supports up to 99 steps.

Walk up and the steps light in sequence; walk away and the delay timer decides how long they stay lit.

Stairs that light up step by step

Two PIR motion sensors, an adjustable day/night sensor and a digital controller light each tread in sequence as you approach.

Low-voltage DC only

The controller and LED strip run on DC voltage. Connect them through the DC power supply and never directly to 110V/220V mains power. Do not add or remove strips while the controller is powered on, or the IC in the main cable can burn out.

Indoor use only

This kit is rated IP30 and is not waterproof. Keep it away from moisture. If the + and - connections are reversed, the controller will not work.

Sensor placement

The controller does not light both sides of the stairs at the same time. Install the A and B sensors at the entrance and exit of the stairs, facing the person walking.

Dual PIR motion sensing

Two PIR sensors at the entrance and exit of the stairs detect you as you approach, with surface or 15mm recessed mounting. The day/night sensor (5 to 150 Lux) lets you choose how dark it must be before the lights switch on.

One main line, no wiring per step

A single main line cable connects every strip. Press the two clamps onto the cable, connect the strip's black and red leads, and move on to the next step.

Tunable from the controller

Set brightness, delay time, speed and one of 12 modes on the digital display, or use the included remote. Brightness, delay and speed each have 99 levels.

Motion Sensing

Lights that respond as you approach

Place one PIR sensor at each end of the staircase, facing the person walking. Surface mounting needs a 10mm hole for the connector; recessed mounting needs a 15mm hole for the sensor. The controller then lights the steps one at a time, with delay time and speed set to your preference.

A continuous line of light under every tread

The main line cable arrives already connected to the controller. Drill a 4mm hole beside each strip, pull the wire through, and press the strip's clamps onto the main line. Switch the controller off before adding or removing strips.
